Filtering outliers from your data

Filter outliers from your plot to present a clear and articulate story.

It's typical for battery data to contain noise and outliers that make your data noisy and visually unappealing.

To filter out these outliers, scroll down to the 'Filters' section on the right panel. Click 'Add Filter'.

In the example plot above, the good data is in the 3.5 to 5 amp-hour range. The noise occurs at data that is below 3.5 Ah.

We can specify in the filter to only show discharge capacities that are greater than 3.5 Ah.

1. Under 'Applies To', choose 'Discharge Capacity'. This will make the filter apply only to the Discharge Capacity, and not any other metrics you may have on the plot.

2. Under 'Using', choose 'Discharge Capacity'.

3. Under 'Operator', choose the '>' operator to specify 'greater than'.

4. Under 'Value', type in '3.5' to specify that only values above 3.5 Ah should be shown.

5. Under 'Unit', specify the unit of 'Ah'.

6. Hit 'Generate' (or 'Update' if you've already generated a plot).

The resulting plot now has a filter applied that only shows datapoints that are above 3.5V for the discharge capacity metric. If needed, you can apply additional filters to continue removing outliers.
