Manual Test Record Stitching

Stitching allows you to connect multiple test files together

Common Use Cases

Stitching is useful when multiple test files are generated, and it would be convenient to consider and analyze them as a single test record. Some common examples include:

  • Cells that are started and stopped (power outages, saving intervals)
  • Cells experiencing intermittent interrupts (RPT tests or equipment changes)
  • Cells that undergo many different protocols
  • Data files that have different cycle indices that should be considered continuous

Manual Test Record Stitching

Test records associated with the same device can be easily stitched together using Voltaiq’s manual stitching feature.

Tests Must Be For the Same Device

In order to stitch two (or more) test records together, they first must be associated with the same device.

If tests are not associated with the same device, the devices can be merged by selecting the desired tests, clicking on the three dots button in the top right corner, selecting “Merge Devices”, and following the on-screen prompts.

Note that the metadata associated with the Receiving Device will apply to all tests associated with the Device.

Accessing Stitching Settings

To begin a manual stitch, refer to the screenshot below (Figure 1).

1. Selecting the test records to be stitched

1. Click the three dots in the top right corner

2. Click “Stitch Test Files”

Stitching Settings Menu

A new menu will appear (Figure 2) that shows the selected tests, the default name of the soon to be created parent stitch file, a check box which controls whether child (member) files will be kept in the search page, and any tags that will be applied to the new stitched file. Once the appropriate settings are selected, click confirm at the bottom of the menu.

Please note that manually stitched test files will not automatically update if testing is still in progress. Parent stitched files will only represent a snapshot in time of when the files were stitched. In order to automatically update stitching files, customers should contact Voltaiq about our auto-stitching feature.
