Metadata Table Use Cases

The metadata table displays all metadata associated with selected tests and devices.

Metadata table use cases

The metadata table is an excellent way to embed information about tests and cells straight into your workspace. The convenience of having data and metadata all on one workspace makes it an ideal use case for dashboards, reports, and presentations.

Test status dashboards & progress updates

Use the metadata table to create a test status dashboard that monitors the progress and test positions of cells.

  • Cycle count is useful to understand the progress of cycling tests.
  • Start time is useful for checking when an experiment began.
  • Last received data is useful for checking if a test is still running.
  • Test tags are useful for tracking things like equipment number, channel number, or protocol.

Compare and organize across different tests

Use the metadata table to create context around different groupings, projects, or organizations.

  • Project is useful when comparing tests that belong to different projects or experiments.
  • Device tags are useful for tracking cells that were used for different purposes.
  • Comments are useful for tracking things like serial IDs, procedures, and general comments.
  • A metadata attribute, like Lot Number, is useful for organizing different lots and batches of cells.

Display important design parameters or process settings

Use the metadata table to highlight important values, inputs, and settings.

  • Design parameters, like Theoretical Capacity (Ah) or Device Active Material Mass (g), are important context to communicate.
  • Organizational groupings like Lot Number are useful for tracking cells that were used for different purposes.
  • Processing parameters, such as Mix Time, Drying Time, Calendaring Thickness can be useful to display in an analysis.

How to create a metadata table

1. In the bottom right corner, next to the charting panel, hover over the create icon, and then click on the metadata table icon.

2. Under the Data Selection tab, select the tests that should be displayed in the table, or move them to different analysis groups, as necessary.

3. Under the Edit Layout tab, turn on the fields that should be displayed. Activated fields appear on the right window. Note that multiple metadata fields can be selected through the different sub-menus.
